Crosse & Blackwell Healthy Balance


Cross & Blackwell logoCrosse & Blackwell offered a range of standard beans which contained higher levels of sugar and salt than their Healthy Balance counterpart. As the second brand to Heinz we launched a C&B Healthy Balance Pork Beans and Sausages in cans.

Role: Assistant Brand Manager in the Canned Culinary section of Nestle Grocery Multiples Division

Trade Execution: I accepted operational responsibility for new product development, and launch. This involved:

  • Liaising with the Creative Agency for label and packaging design
  • Market research and competitor analysis
  • Trade and Consumer advertising
  • Internal presentation to Account Management Team to obtain buy-in
  • Development of value added launch packs
  • Development of in-store POS material
  • Development of discount coupons
  • Forecasting for production


Healthy Balance Beans and Pork sausages established distribution across the range of Grocery Multiples and national Cash and Carry’s achieving agreed volume and profit targets.
